Halifax Real Estate News Compliments of Andrew Perkins Issue 1.6 - June 2021   In the month of June, there was a slight slow down in the Halifax Real Estate market. Currently, we have 596 active listings for homes and condos, which is up from just under 400 last month. Inventory is still very low in comparison to what we have seen in recent years. We noticed this month that there were fewer sales overall and not as many people competing for homes as in the previous months. This may have been due to the slow easing of COVID restrictions. It always takes some time for people to begin moving within our community comfortably after a lockdown. With that being said, most properties priced below $300,000 still saw quite a bit of activity. It was the properties priced over $500,000 or more which had noticeable decreases in activity. We do not expect this to last for the duration of the summer. With the easing of restrictions and increased travel allowances, this summer could be very busy! I am off to Newfoundland this month for a much-needed vacation and to visit my mom. It has been too long.
